Annette Marie (Palmer) Iversen

October 28, 1949 – April 14, 2026

Annette Iversen, age 76, of Bow, Washington, passed away at home on April 14, 2026, with her loving family by her side after a sudden and brief illness.

The daughter of Ted and Marie Palmer, Annette was raised in Sedro-Woolley, WA where she attended school and grew up in the Church of Christ.  She married her high school sweetheart, Andy Iversen, on March 1, 1967.  They honeymooned in Hawaii while Andy was on leave from the U.S. Army.  Their son, Eric, was born that November.  Their daughter, Tina, arrived five and a half years later.

Annette became a Pharmacy Tech and worked at Holland Drug Co. for 20 years.  She and Andy followed her parents when they moved to Bow, where Annette designed the home of her dreams.  She retired to care for her father and after he passed away in 1999, Annette and Andy then enjoyed the "snowbird" lifestyle in Yuma, Arizona for about 15 years.  Here they enjoyed home improvement projects and riding 4-wheelers in the desert.  They made new memories along with countless lifelong friends.

Annette was a horse-lover right out of the gate and family albums show her on horseback by the age of three.  Her love for horses continued and she shared this passion with her daughter, spending many summers at the Skagit County Fair (then again years later with her granddaughters.)  Annette later joined the Sedro-Woolley Riding Club where she proudly carried the American and Canadian flags for the grand entry of the 4 ^th of July Rodeo.  Annette was also a member of the Skagit Rein Riders Ladies Mounted Drill Team for several years where they performed at countless rodeos and competitions.  She absolutely cherished her time trail riding with her good friends and got one last ride in on her new horse in the fall of 2025.

Being more of a private person, Annette was quiet, organized, thoughtful and witty.  She managed the family business, enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.  She did not follow the crowd and did things her own way.  If you took the time to get to know her, what a treasure you would find.  Many have shared that she was a dear and loyal friend.  I guess it was no surprise that when she learned of her diagnosis, she chose Quality of Life over Quantity.

Annette will be lovingly missed by all of those who truly got to know her.  She is survived by her lifelong partner, Andy Iversen; son, Eric Iversen (Cherilyn Fisher), daughter, Tina Wilhonen (Dan Jones); granddaughter, Andrea Iversen (TJ Bryner); great-granddaughters, Presley and Parker; granddaughter, Emily Iversen; grandson, Gavin Wilhonen (Audrey Miller); great-granddaughter, Kelley Annette; numerous nieces and nephews and their parents (Iversen, Brewer, Self, Palmer); her close friends who remained in touch until the end, her three horses and two cats.
