Anton O.
Lathrop
Aug 18, 1937 — Jun 7, 2026
Anton O. Lathrop, born on August 18, 1937, to Costello and Clarice Lathrop, passed away June 7, 2026. He was 88. His parents raised him in Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin, where he enjoyed a rural country life riding horses, motorcycles, and learning the lessons required to succeed in life. Known by "Tony" to most, he joined the Navy, where he spent the next 20 years serving his country at home and abroad. While stationed at NAS Whidbey, he met Patty Mahaffey in Burlington, Washington, where they married in 1961. Tony retired from the Navy as Chief Petty Officer and soon after joined the sales team at Vern Sims Ford in Sedro-Woolley where he worked for many more years in his second career. He enjoyed having daily coffee and conversation at Joy's Bakery. Tony was truly one of a kind, a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. Fishing, woodworking, and cribbage were a few of his favorite pastimes. He was preceded in death by his brothers Mick and Mark. Tony is survived by his loving wife, Patty, of 65 years, daughter Shelley (Mike) Nevitt, son Tony Lathrop, grandchildren Hannah Nevitt, Sallie (David) Miller, and Marcus Nevitt, great-grandchildren Emma and Grace Miller, sisters Linda and Judy and brothers Max and John. A graveside service will be held at Burlington Greenhills Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, June 23rd at 1 p.m. Please share your memories with the family.
Rest in peace, sailor.
