Barbara L. McNair, age 85, of Mount Vernon, Washington, passed away March 13, 2026.  She was born April 8, 1940 to William and Anna (Fuchs) Langfritz in New York City.

Barbara met her husband, Doug McNair, in New York City where they married in 1961.  She boldly moved to the village of Hoonah, in Southeast Alaska that same year where Doug managed a communications site.  In 1964, they welcomed their son, Scott.  In 1969, the family moved to Anchorage, AK, where they owned and operated a restaurant, partnering with Doug's lifelong friends.  In 1972, their family grew as they welcomed their son, Tom.  In 1974, they moved to Clear Lake, WA, where they spent many happy years with Barbara working much of that time in medical administration and billing.  At the age of 48, Barbara earned her Associate's Degree from Skagit Valley College.  Doug and Barbara were truly devoted to each other through nearly 60 years.  Barbara lovingly cared for Doug through his Alzheimer's, and despite her own health challenges, she remained both brave and resilient.  A devoted mother to her two sons, she was guided by her faith and shared her love through her cooking, bringing people together.  She lived with strength and grace until the end.

Barb is survived by her son, Scott McNair; grandchildren, Ava and Jake McNair.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Carol; husband; son, William Thomas McNair.
