Calvin Lewis Huscusson, 78, a lifetime resident of Lyman, Washington and former Rockport, WA area resident, passed away May 9, 2026, at St Joseph's hospital in Bellingham.
He was born in Sedro-Woolley on November 14, 1947, to John and Willa Mae (Seago) Huscusson. He was raised in Rockport and attended grade school and high school in Concrete, WA.
He married Mary Melton and moved to Lyman to raise their family. They later divorced, however remained lifelong friends. He was a proud volunteer firefighter in Lyman for many years. He drove logging trucks and worked in the logging industry for most of his life. He later worked for the City of Sedro-Woolley and Janicki before his retirement. He met Josefina Zamora in 2017 who lived with him in Lyman until his passing.
Calvin was known to live life to the fullest with a personality bigger than life. Always willing to give "unfiltered" advice and or his opinion. He loved spending time with family and friends and never turned down an invite for a good time. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, working in the garden and going for walks with Daisy. He was a proud member of the Lyman community, always willing to lend a helping hand. His greatest joy was being Poppy to his grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends that became family.
Calvin is survived by his partner, Josefina "Josie" Zamora at the family home in Lyman; his children and their significant others, Lagina McKinley (Gary Koski) of Sedro-Woolley, Debra Page of Montana and Mike (Sahra) Huscusson of Snohomish; grandchildren, Nicole (Sam) Jeffries, Cody (Annissa) Apple, Dakota Hemphill, Konnor McKinley, Kinsley Huscusson, Michael (Taya) Huscusson and Russel (Emily) Huscusson; great grandchildren, Billie Rose, Halen, Baylor and Layna; sisters, Betty Walden and Ozell Podraza; numerous nieces and nephews; bonus children, Melissa Hornbeck and Christine Bigelow.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Willa Mae Huscusson, brothers, Dallas and Rob Huscusson, sisters, Esther Anderson and Marie Stone.
We would like to give a special thanks to Tina Hoxie (UGH Oncology) and Cheryl Mitchell (bonus daughter) for their support and helping us navigate dad's care.
Funeral Service will be held on June 5, 2026 at 11am at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley, followed by food and beverages, location to be determined. We welcome you to share your memories of Calvin and sign the online register.
