Obituary

Carolyn Mae (Wolfe) Bjordal, of Burlington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 16, 2023 of natural causes.  Carol was born on January 18, 1941 in Mount Vernon, Washington to Roy Woodrow and Edith Viola (Erickson) Wolfe. She was also welcomed by her brother, Gerald Lynn Wolfe. She was raised by her aunt and uncle Selma (Nels) Danielson of Burlington and was truly a daughter to them. She graduated from Burlington-Edison High School, Western Washington University, and worked as a bookkeeper until retirement. Carol married Per Atle Bjordal on March 2, 1974.  She and Atle enjoyed boating on the Nordic Rose for many years and later went on several cruises.  She and Atle built two homes in Ocean Shores, Washington before moving back to the Skagit Valley.

Carol is survived by her husband, Atle of Burlington; daughters, Peggy (Wayne) Jones of Kenai, Alaska, Debbie (Scott) Hamilton of Burlington; grandchildren, Breezy Itero, Sean Jones, Krystal Jones, Stephan (Liz Embree) Jones,  Emmie Hamilton, and Fiona Wolfe-Jones; great grandchildren, Colin Calavan, Liam Itero, Mason, Kyle and Dylan Jones, Delaney Jones, Avery Embree Jones, and Sebastian Slagle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nels and Selma Danielson; infant son, Gerald William; brother, Gerald Wolfe; grandson, Jason Buck.

Carol valiantly fought against Parkinson's Disease for 21 years. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Parkinson's Foundation.

The family would like to thank Ramona Stone for her amazing in-home care for 2 ½ years. Most recently thank you to the staff at Where the Heart Is for their incredible care, with special mention to Dianna Rodriguez.

A Celebration of life will be held at 2:00, Sunday, September 24, 2023 at the Beau Lodge, 17581 Wood Rd, Bow, WA 98232.  Carol was laid to rest at Fir Conway Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. Share your memories of Carol and sign the online guest register.
