Obituary

Charles D Lederle (Chuck) was born on September 1, 1937 in Sedro-Woolley, the son of Charles & Dorothy Lederle, he was raised and attended school there, graduating from Sedro Woolley High School in 1955.  Chuck attended Washington State University for a few years, he returned home to marry his high school sweetheart Kaye Tingley on September 28, 1957.  Chuck passed away at his childhood home in Sedro Woolley on Thursday November 20, 2025 at the age of 88.

Chuck and Kaye lived in Sedro-Woolley with their two children Beth and Charles for almost 50 years, except for a brief stay in Texas.  They enjoyed spending their summers at the Day Creek cabin.  Chuck was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather always prepared with candy available for his grandkids.

After his wife Kaye passed away in 2006, he met and shared the rest of his life with Marleta Morgan, continuing to live in Sedro-Woolley.  Chuck and Marleta spent a good amount of time traveling around in her motor home and going on other short vacations.  The last few years of his life he was a member of the Day Creek Church where he enjoyed visiting with the members of the church and participating in church outings and picnics.

Chuck worked most of his career at Skagit Steel in Sedro Woolley as the parts manager.  Chuck enjoyed fishing with his son Charles, camping with family and friends, woodworking and watching woodworking videos on his computer.  He enjoyed playing card games, especially cribbage with his children and playing solitary by the woodstove in their family home.  He and his daughter Beth shared many years of sobriety, Chuck 39 years and Beth 33 years they both enjoy watching Seahawk and Mariner games,

Chuck is survived by his significant other Marleta Morgan, his sister Janice (Lederle) Backus of San Francisco, his daughter Beth (Lederle) Ward of Kent, his son and daughter-in-law Charles & Vicki Lederle of Day Creek, four grandchildren Charles Lederle of Mount Vernon, Jennifer (Lederle) Swift of Sedro-Woolley, Alyssa Ward of Berkley and James Ward of Puyallup, six great grandchildren Brandy, Charles, & Sloan Lederle, Lizabeth Shepherd, Wyatt Shepherd and Jimi Swift.  Nephews Terry, Tim & Jon McDougall of California, and Niece Kristi (Ronk) Froland of Bellingham.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles & Dorothy Lederle, his sister Sharon Stamey, his wife Kaye (Tingley) Lederle, and his grandson Jesse Lederle.

A celebration of life will be held on November 29, 2025 at the Day Creek Chapel in Day Creek Washington at 1:00pm.  There will be desserts and beverages after the service where you can share stories and memories.  You can also share your memories of Chuck and sign the online guest register.
