Obituary

Cynthia 'Cindi' Ann Marie Pena, age 39, passed away at Skagit Valley Hospital, Mount Vernon, Washington November 29, 2024.  She was born on January 10, 1985 in Mount Vernon to Paul and Kim (Pena) Coward.

Cindi was a vibrant spirit who found joy in the simple pleasures of life.  She loved watching "South Park," exploring the outdoors through hiking and hunting with her father, Paul.  Her passion for music and fascination with monkeys brought laughter and happiness to those around her.  Known for her quick wit and clever comebacks, Cindi had a unique ability to brighten any room with her presence.

Cindi is survived by her son, Carter Smith; mother, Kim Pena Coward; father, Paul (Mandy) Coward; sister, Tara (William) Keener; grandparents, Gregorio and Pat Pena, and Lynn J. Keifer; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Daniel Russell and Bessie Pauline Coward, and Jerri Lynn Keifer.

Cindi shared a particularly close relationship with her aunt, Pam Mottet, with whom she formed a deep bond over the years.  This special connection was a source of love and support in her life.

Cindi will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

A Celebration of Life Potluck Service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Cascade Flats, 835 North Fruitdale Road, Sedro-Woolley, WA  98284.  The family encourages you to bring your favorite dish and story to share with everyone.  Share your memories of Cindi and sign the online guest register.
