Dale Allen Huggins, a lifelong resident of Skagit County, Washington, passed away peacefully at home on February 26, 2025. Born on November 20, 1952, Dale was raised in Sedro-Woolley by his parents, Dorothy and Roland Huggins, alongside his older brother Don. His parents came to Sedro-Woolley from Burdick, Kansas—a place they returned to every summer to visit family and where Dale made cherished memories that stayed with him throughout his life.

Dale attended Western Washington University, where he met and fell in love with Gail VanZandt. Gail and Dale married on December 21, 1974, and created a life together, raising their children, Erin and Loren, in a home that Dale built. Dale worked for many years at Skagit Architectural Millworks, and later at the Country Store in Sedro-Woolley.

Dale found joy in nature's grandeur. His adventurous spirit took him across North America—from canoeing the Mackenzie River to road-trips through the Four Corners region—but the place he held closest to his heart was the North Cascades. Through his lifelong passion for photography, he captured the landscapes that inspired him. The photographs he took are a beautiful gift and a special part of his legacy.

Dale was a dedicated and caring husband, father, and grandpa. He cultivated lasting memories with his loved ones, connecting with passion for the outdoors, sports, geography, music and much more. He lived his life with humor and humility, never taking himself too seriously. He had a playful spirit and approached each person he met with genuine kindness.

Dale's warmth, wisdom, humor and love will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the stories, laughter, and adventures he shared with everyone he touched. The Huggins family is holding a memorial gathering to honor Dale on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the picnic shelter at Riverfront Park in Sedro-Woolley, WA.
