Dale Leroy Woodruff, 82, of Anacortes, Washington, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham. He was born on July 14, 1943, in Anacortes, the son of William and Thelma (Howard) Woodruff.

Dale lived a full and dedicated life, marked by service to his country, his community, and his family. After graduating from school in Anacortes, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, proudly serving his country before continuing in the Army Reserves. Following his military service, Dale pursued a career as a diesel mechanic, a trade he worked in for many years.

His devotion to the town of Concrete was evident throughout his life. Dale served as Chief of Police, Mayor for four years, and a member of the Concrete City Council for twelve years. He also gave 25 years of service as a volunteer firefighter, always ready to step up for his neighbors in times of need.

Dale was a longtime and proud member of several organizations, including the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, where he was active for more than 50 years. He also participated in the Legion Riders, combining his love of motorcycles with his commitment to veteran fellowship.

Beyond his service, Dale enjoyed many hobbies that brought him joy. He loved riding his motorcycle, boating through the San Juan Islands, fishing, and scuba diving especially hunting for octopus. He also had a fondness for watching NASCAR and even "Gator Wrasslin'," always finding adventure and fun in life.

Dale is survived by his loving wife, Myrna; his sons, James Woodruff, Gerald Woodruff, and Dale N. Woodruff; his daughter, Kimberlee Workman; his sister, Catherine Morgan; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Thelma Woodruff.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Dale's honor at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley, with Military Honors. A reception will follow at the Sedro-Woolley Eagles. Dale will be laid to rest at Tahoma National Cemetery at a later date.
