Deanna Lynn Johnson, 69, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Clear Lake, Washington, on February 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Deanna was born on September 21, 1956, in New Westminster, B.C., Canada, to Albert and Hilda (Rossi) Fancy. In 1967, her family made their home in Clear Lake, where she would spend the rest of her life. She graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1975 and proudly became a United States citizen on March 4, 1977 a milestone that reflected her commitment to the country and community she cherished.
On October 27, 1973, she married the love of her life, Eric Johnson, in Sedro-Woolley. Together they built a beautiful life grounded in devotion, laughter, and unwavering partnership. Their love story spanned more than five decades and served as a steady foundation for their growing family.
Deanna dedicated 25 years of her working life as a grocery checker at Food Pavilion, where her warm smile and friendly conversations made her a familiar and welcoming presence to so many in the community. She had a gift for making others feel seen and valued, whether at work, at home, or wherever she happened to be.
Her greatest joy was her family. She treasured time spent gardening, camping, and gathering everyone together for annual vacations in Chelan. She loved the beach, quiet afternoons working on puzzles, and the simple, meaningful moments that turned into lasting memories. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by those she loved especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Deanna is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Eric Johnson; her daughters, Angela (Cory) Swatzina, Erica (Patrick) Griffith; her grandchildren, Ella Griffith and Casey Griffith; her siblings, David Fancy, Sidney Fancy, Maureen Johnson, Sandra (Raymond) Johnson, Malcolm (Kathy) Fancy, Sonja (Berry) Lint, and Cheryl Peterson; her sisters-in-law, Linda Logsdon and Gailwyn Sweet; her faithful dog, Tank; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Hilda Fancy; her parents-in-law, Roy and Betty Johnson; her brother, Norman Fancy; her brothers-in-law, Kenneth Johnson and Lowell Johnson, Carl Peterson, Jerry Sweet; her sisters-in-law, Frances Fancy and Lucille Fancy.
In accordance with her wishes, Deanna was laid to rest in a private graveside service at Clear Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Clear Lake Fire Department, P.O. Box 186, Clear Lake, WA 98235, or to Calvary Baptist Church, 324 Avon Ave., Burlington, WA 98233.
Her legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely, the family she nurtured so faithfully, and the many lives she touched through her kindness and steady presence. Those who knew Deanna will remember her gentle spirit, her quiet strength, and the warmth of her heart a heart that made everyone feel welcome and at home.
