Obituary

Delores Evelyn Parker, age 92, of Sedro-Woolley, Washington, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2024 with family and friends at her bedside. She was born August 24, 1931, in Garnett, Kansas to Curtis and Evelyn (Morris) Snell.

At the age of 7 Delores and her siblings moved with their parents to the Skagit Valley where she grew up and attended school. During her senior year of high school in Sedro-Wooley, WA she met her husband and love of her life, Wallace Lynn Parker. They were married in May of 1950 and shared 3 children and 70 beautiful years together.

During those 70 years Delores continued to call the Skagit Valley home and raised her children there. Despite occasionally leaving to be with her husband in Alaska or Samoa, she always considered the Skagit Valley her home and spent her golden years there with her husband.

Delores was a talented artist and enjoyed sharing her work with others. She was skilled in china painting, oil painting, creating porcelain dolls, knitting, crochet, and sewing. Delores grew beautiful flower gardens and flourishing vegetable gardens which she enjoyed sharing with her loved ones.

Delores is survived by her daughter, Redeana and husband, David Bell of Gleneden Beach, Oregon; grandchildren, Courtney Lynn Loy of Portland, OR and Megan Marie Shaffner of Portland;  great grandson, Kyler Ashe Huntley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wallace; children, Pamela Carol and Curtis Lynn; sister, Edna Thomas; brother, Harry Snell;  brother William Snell.
