Dennis M.
West
Apr 21, 1956 — Oct 7, 2025
Dennis M. West, 69, of Sedro-Woolley, Washington, passed away on October 7, 2025.
Dennis was born on April 21, 1956, in Seattle, Washington, to William Hall West and Dorothy June (Moore) West. He grew up in the University District alongside his parents; brothers, Barry Steffen and Richard Cartin; sisters, Sandy Shaffer, Toni Pagni and Pam Daniels.
A devoted family man, Dennis married the love of his life, Cynthia West, on January 1, 1975. They shared a beautiful marriage of over 50 years, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. He was a dedicated husband, an incredible father, and a cherished "Papa" to his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Skyler, Leah, and Kelcie. He adored spending time with them, whether it was playing games, showering them with love, or taking them out for McDonald's chicken nuggets.
Dennis had a passion for coaching baseball and spent many happy days camping with his family at Lake Tyee. He also loved fishing and collecting sports memorabilia. A faithful Christian, Dennis attended Gold Creek Church in Mill Creek, where he found strength and peace in his belief that God would always care for his family.
He worked as a general contractor for over 30 years and lived in Bothell before relocating to Sedro-Woolley. Throughout his life, Dennis embodied strength, compassion, and leadership. He was a protector, a provider, and a man of deep faith who led by example and loved with his whole heart.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia West; daughter, Vanessa West; son, Jeremy (Stephanie) West; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Skylar, Leah, and Kelcie West, Reece, Rose and Ruby Gullings; beloved pets, Finn and Boo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy West; brothers, Barry Steffen and Richard Cartin; sisters, Pam Daniels, Sandy Shaffer, Toni Pagni; grandparents, North and Beatrice West, and Irving and Lura Moore.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as an amazing husband, father, Papa, and friend. May he rest peacefully, watching over us as a beautiful angel.
