On the evening of February 6, 2022 , Don Grandy of Sedro-Woolley went home to be with the Lord at the age of 88.

Don was born to Juanita and Elmer Grandy in Anacortes Washington in March of 1933. He was raised in Skagit County, attending schools in the Conway and Burlington–Edison School Districts where in High School he was a member of the B-EHS tennis and wrestling teams, becoming a Washington State wrestling champion in 1951.  After graduation he and two of his best friends joined the U.S. Navy, which was during the Korean War.  While in the Navy, he was stationed in Guam, Japan and a couple of other duty locations.

After discharge from the Navy, he went to live with the family of his good friend Bob Goodall in West Virginia.  While there, Bob introduced Don to a wonderful young lady by the name of Shirley Ann who quickly became the love of Don's life.  In July 1956, in Wellsburg, West Virginia, they were married in a small ceremony at the home of William and Anna Mae Lohr.  They went on to raise two children, Bruce and Kimberly.

After moving to Washington State, Don worked at Skagit Steel in Sedro-Woolley in the foundry eventually going to barber school and becoming a barber.  He ran "Don's Barber Shop" in Burlington for a few years then moving to it Sedro-Woolley and reestablishing it across from the post office before retiring in 2003.

Don is survived by his children, Bruce Grandy (Connie) and Kimberly Osterhout (Fred); brother, Bill Grandy (Juanita); sister, Sandy Rodriguez; nephews, Christopher Grandy, Ron Fox and Rafael Rodriguez; niece, Corrina Grandy; and grandchildren, Erin Howard, Clint Osterhout, Whitley Radabah, Brandon Grandy, and Anna Mae Ackerman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; mother, Juanita; father, Elmer; brother, Bob.
