Donald J. Griffin of Mount Vernon, Washington passed away on May 8, 2024 at his home.  Don was born on June 12, 1945 to James and Monica Griffin in Inglewood, California.

Don lived in Southern California where he graduated from Serra High School in Gardena, California and played baseball and football for the Cavaliers.  He attended Orange Coast College, California State University at Long Beach and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and later received a Masters of Public Administration degree.

He was married to Anne Dlouhy on December 28, 1968 in Huntington Beach, California.  They moved to Pensacola, Florida where he served in the Navy.  After he was discharged, he moved back to Southern California.  He worked as a real estate appraiser for Orange County for many years before moving to Washington State.  There he worked as an appraisal consultant, before his employment with Snohomish County as a real estate appraiser.  Don retired in 2010.

Don enjoyed many years traveling with Anne around the United States and was able to visit all 50 states.  He especially enjoyed the time he got to spend with his family and friends.  The greatest joy for Don was a trip to a Disney Park with the family, especially with the grandchildren.

Don is survived by his wife, Anne Griffin; daughter, Valerie (Justin) Hill; four grandchildren, Alex (Kelly O.) Hill, Emily Hill, Sarah Hill and Hannah Hill; siblings Steve (Pattie) Griffin, Shari (Bill) Fortmueller and Gary (Donna) Griffin; numerous nieces and nephews.  Don was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristen Griffin.
