Donna Lafayette passed away peacefully in her sleep May 16, 2024, surrounded by her family.  She was 75 years old.  She was born in Minot, North Dakota to Lyle and Rose (Renville) Marquette, the oldest of seven siblings.  Donna made her way to the Pacific Northwest and met her husband, Mickey Lafayette, the love of her life and they married in 1977.  They raised three children, Kendra, Jerry and Adam in the Upper Skagit Valley.  She was beloved by her grandchildren, Anthony, Brenton, Jdin and Bryson, and many other children who called her "Grandma."

Her passions were gardening, baking bread, art, storytelling, and dancing in the kitchen.  Donna worked for many years at Seattle City Light, completing the Union Carpentry Apprenticeship and then the Union Electrical Apprenticeship.  She retired as a Journeymen Electrical Constructor.  Donna is a member of the Turtle Mountain Chippewa tribe.

Donna is survived by her husband, Mickey; children, Kendra Mackenzie, Jerry and Adam; grandchildren; siblings, David, Mark, Lee, Randy Marquette, Ralph Ortiz, and Colleen Archilla.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Terri Mulvihill.

A celebration of Donna's life will be held graveside at Forest Park Cemetery at 1:00 May 31, 2024, followed by a reception at the Assembly of God Church.  A time of visitation will be available from 9:00 to 5:00 Thursday, May 30 and 9-11, Friday at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.  Please share your memories of Donna and sign the online guest register.
