Dora
Presnell
May 10, 1935 — Jun 22, 2025
Dora Marie Presnell passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025 from a traumatic brain injury. She was born May 10, 1935 to Paul and Gennie Cook in Caney Fork, North Carolina and moved to Skagit County, Washington in 1940 and lived there since then. After retirement, she and N.T. lived the winter months in Yuma, Arizona.
Marie was a virtuous woman as described in Proverbs 31. Her "career" was her home and her family. She loved fiercely and selflessly. She was soft spoken, kind, gracious, patient, strong and most importantly, an obedient and faithful child of God. Talented in so many ways. The most recent being stained glass. She held steadfast through very sorrowful times and when asked how she got through so many challenges she said, "My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ carried me through the storms in my life, and He can do the same for you!"
She married N.T. Presnell on September 10, 1953 and had her first child, Michael in November, 1954 followed by four more children, Curtis, Steve, Wes and Teresa between 1954 and 1964; 10 grandchildren, Kevin, Kari, Nathan, Kamren, Sareena, Trevor, Kiersten, Charlie, Nichole and Hunter, five great grandchildren, Gabriel, Oliver, Bree, Sullivan and Saylor.
Preceding her in death were N.T., Kevin Allen, Mike, Curtis and Wes; her father and mother, Paul and Gennie Cook; all of her siblings, Clifford, Baxter, Blaine, Floyd, Art, Herman and sister, Mag; also grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones.
Survivors include two children, Steve and Teresa; all grandchildren except Kevin and all of her great grandchildren.
In honor of her, there will be a Graveside Service on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Lyman Cemetery and you may view her at Lemley Chapel, Monday, July 7 from Noon to 5:00pm, Tuesday from 9:00am to 5:00pm and Wednesday before the service from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Grandson, Hunter will preside over the Graveside and do the eulogy.
Please share your memories of Marie and sign the guest register.
