Douglas Erle Kanske, age 43, of Mount Vernon, Washington, died January 17, 2026, at home.  He was born May 22, 1982, in Mount Vernon, the son of Duane Kanske and the late Deborah (Debbie) Kanske.

Doug spent his career in the trades with Valley Electric, Liberty Electric and Chad Fisher Construction.  He started in the shop and worked his way up to project manager and resource manager.  Work was his main focus he was dedicated and dreamed of retiring in his 50's.

He was an avid Seattle sports fan (Mariners, Seahawks), followed Formula 1, watched the UFC, and collected sports cards.  Doug also enjoyed road trips, fishing, concerts, and time with his close friends.  He had a knack for great jokes and always knew how to lighten up the room.

He is survived by his father, Duane and brother, Dean, both of Mount Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah and brother, Dustin.

Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Sedro-Woolley Eagles. Doug was laid to rest at Bow Cemetery, where he rests beside his brother, Dustin. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice or acts of kindness within the community are appreciated.
