Obituary

Eileen Hazel Beitler was born December 13, 1934, in Port Angeles, Washington.  She passed away at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, WA, on February 24, 2021, at 86 years of age.  Eileen was born to Dutee and Doris (Dreyer) Allen.

She attended public schools, graduating from Sedro-Woolley High School, class of 1953.  On March 23, 1956, she married John V. Beitler.  They had three children, Peggy, Terry and Gerry "Rusty."

She retired from the State of Washington after having held a variety of Administration Assistant positions.  After retiring, Eileen served the community in multiple organizations: Mount Vernon and Oak Harbor Emblem Clubs, Cyrene Chapter No. 110 Eastern Star, Skagit County Shrine Club, Skagit Speedway, among others.  She volunteered at the Mount Vernon Police Department for over 24 years, proudly donating over 4000 hours and was the first, and so far, the only recipient of the MVPD Gold Star Volunteer Award.

Eileen is survived by children, Terry (Lisa) Beitler, Gerry "Rusty" (Shawn) Becker; grandchildren, Debbie Rasar, Ryan (Stephanie) Rasar; great-grandson, Owen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; daughter, Peggy Terrell; brother, Floyd Allen; parents, Dutee and Doris Allen.

Private inurnment was held at Union Cemetery, Sedro-Woolley.  There will be a Celebration of Life, Sunday, June 6, at the Sedro-Woolley Masonic Lodge from 1-4 PM.  Memorial donations can be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children donate.lovetotherescue.org in John and Eileen's name.  Please share your memories of Eileen and sign the on line guest register.
