On August 10, 2023, Ernest Roy Allen was released from his struggles with COPD and lung failure. Ernie was born December 30,1949,  the son of Mary Pearl Dewey and Robert (Bob) Maurice Allen.

He was a father, brother and friend.

He was a graduate of Sedro-Woolley High school class of 68. Following school he opted to enlist vs draft choosing U.S. Navy Civil Battalion, (The Sea Bees) during Vietnam, 1969-1972. Following service, he was proud to be an American Veteran.

He was a jack of all trades, he worked for the county, as a mechanic, sometime in the woods, heavy equipment operator, even some pool hall gambling, but a Master Electrician was his calling. Over his decades he was very involved with his IBEW local 191.

When he was not working, or working on the homestead, Ernie enjoyed hiking, camping and fishing, and some solitude. This included family trips to Baker and surrounding lakes with or without the wife and his girls or with his extended family and friends. Annually, he looked forward to "Big Hikes, fishing, some required flying into high lakes with his buddies for many years until a hip injury slowed him down just a little too much… Once retired you might have found him sharing family time at breakfast at a local diner or playing cards or lending a friend a hand or two.

He had pride and love for his family and friends.

Ernie passed on his love for music to his girls who went through those old 8 tracks and reel to reels and album collections on a custom stereo system ahead of its time including custom built light boxes in his own private pool hall in the house as they grew up. He shared an appreciation for cars, fast cars, and trucks, trucks that could work. He had always been one to think outside the box and if "it" needed fixed or figured, he would find a way, and even build custom parts.

True to his Veteran pride, having been subjected to Agent Orange, he signed up for several studies in hope to help himself and other veterans, living with the complications. He also felt the value in being an organ donor, to which, within hours of passing, he was able to help others including the gift of eyesight to another.

Ernie is preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Britt Mercer; several aunts; uncles; cousins and friends.

He continues in remembrance by his daughters, Angela (Steve) Kilcup, Trisha Allen, foster daughter, Robin Frizzell; sisters, Kathy Adkins, Nancy Lovejoy; grandkids, Autumn Frizzell, Tyler Kilcup and Cody Hamilton; niece and nephew, Jessica Lovejoy, Christopher Lovejoy; along with a former wife and several later girlfriends and a great many friends and acquaintances along the road of life.

He will be commemorated Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Veteran Memorial Park at 10:00AM. His placard has been set and recognition of service will include a short remembrance and color guard at 10:30AM.
