Gladys M. Lynch, age 86, of Sedro-Woolley passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Brookdale Senior Living in Bellingham.  She was born December 30, 1934, in Roslyn, Washington to John and Margaret (Gladdus) Dalisky and had many fond memories of revisiting her birthplace and family history.  At the age of 10 she moved with her family to Sumner, Washington where she attended school and graduated from Sumner High School in 1952.  She remained close to her high school friends over the years.  Her work career started at The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in Seattle for 5 years where she met her husband John (Jack) Lynch.  They were married in Seattle August 5, 1956.  Gladys continued to work in banking at Seattle First National Bank and a brief time at Skagit State Bank. She is very proud of having 6 children in 7 years and then raising them while working full-time at DSHS in Mt. Vernon. She retired in 1995 after 25 years of serving clients. Many of her co-workers remember her as "Happy Bottom" with her friendly personality and fun nature. After her career, she was a devoted Grandma babysitting and caring for, and housing several grandchildren and their families on numerous occasions. This was the selflessness nature of Gladys to help her own children and assisted in raising grandchildren as they were born.

Spring was her favorite season. She enjoyed endless hours maintaining her yard and garden while still weeding on her knees until a few years ago. Gladys loved years of Birch Bay summers with her entire family and continuing into the generations with families. She enjoyed trips with her daughters that took her over the years to Lake Chelan, Roslyn, Hawaii, Laughlin, Las Vegas, and Scottsdale to embrace sunshine and shopping for her love of stylish clothes, gifts for family, plus; filling her life with laughter and fun memories.  Two bucket list last wishes included going to the Price is Right Show 6 years ago and three years ago seeing Celine Dion in concert.  Some of her other favorite memories were watching her sons play sports, seeing all her children successful in their careers, attending grandchildren's events, looking forward to holidays and especially Christmas with family. She was known for her good quick wit humor, memory, and story telling, and as the "best cook" by many.  Often after meals family would repeatedly say, "This is better than a restaurant." She was well known for her variety of crème and apple pies at celebrations. She loved food, cooking, eating, and making more than enough to always send home with family for leftovers.

Gladys surprised even herself and enriched her last days of her life moving to Brookdale Senior Living. She shined as the new resident in her fashionable attire and engaged with new instant friends, embracing herself into bingo games and new activities, loving the chef prepared meals in the dining room, but most of all the staff loved her as "Happy Bottom" there too.  Her last day of life came shorter than expected and she was surrounded by loving family members.

Gladys is survived by her children, Marie Owens, Kathy Barnes (Ryan), Patty Siegwarth (Mike), Mary Lynch, Ed Lynch(Kristi), Michael Lynch (Tina); grandchildren, Ryan Barnes, Krystal House, Shannon Mercer, Blake Siegwarth,  Madeline Jones, Jay Owens, Nick Owens, Bryce Owens, John Lynch, Laura Lynch, Paige Lynch, Jack Lynch; great grandchildren, Christina, Cooper, William, David, Allie, Rory, Andie, Clay, Kit, Gemma, Tatum, and soon the birth of another great grandchild in 2022; her brother Harold Dalisky and Patty Tracy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John (Jack) Lynch; great grandson, Oliver Barnes; son-in-law, Tim Owens; siblings, Elmer, Melvin, Dorothy, Delores, and Kay.

Gladys' final resting place is next to her husband John (Jack) Lynch at Greenhills Memorial Cemetery, Burlington, WA.  A private family graveside service was held October 30, 2021.  A Celebration of Life Service includes a catered lunch buffet, a special program of sharing, and music will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 beginning promptly at 11:30am at the Burlington Community Center at 1011 Greenleaf Avenue in Burlington for all family, relatives, and friends.    Memorials if interested, may be given to the American Heart Association or a donation fund for an engraved garden bench in her name and memory to Brookdale Senior Living.  Share your memories of Gladys and sign the online guest register.
