Jacob
Hanson
d. Aug 19, 2022
Jacob Allan Lee Hanson's life was taken from his family, friends and loved ones in a tragedy on August 19, 2022, in Burlington WA. As we take this in, I would like everyone to take a moment and remember Jake as the outgoing man he was.
Jacob Hanson was born December 31, 1995, in Anacortes, WA to his father, Allan Hanson and mother, Tammy Hanson. Growing up he spent most summers in Bonners Ferry, Idaho with his grandfather, Dan Dunning and sister, Megan Hanson. They spent their days morel mushroom hunting, fishing, huckleberry picking and camping alongside the Kootenai River where he went cliff jumping, rafting and panning for gold. His time wasn't much different back home, Jake would do anything he could to be out adventuring with friends and family fishing on the Skagit river, crabbing, camping and going up any backroad he could.
Jake made his career at Janicki Industries and Neilson Bros moving up to a Forman position before his passing. He had an extreme passion for the logging industry and was the most hardworking man, if he were ever to get hurt, he would brush it off and ensure the job got done.
Jacob values his time with his close friends as he had many, I took a handful of them and asked them to describe Jake using three words he spent most days with Levi and his fiancé Alicia, they describe Jake as one of the most caring, goofiest, hardworking and respectful man they have ever met. Other close friends described him as a true hearted, loyal, kind, funny, passionate, fun and courageous man. His most treasured moments with his friends would be fishing at Lake Shannon in Concrete, WA on a boat where he spent his childhood fishing camping with his family. His most prized possessions were his deer, elk sheds and wood craftsmanship. Jake touched many people's lives and will continue to through memories.
Jacob is survived by his father, Allan Hanson; mother, Tamara Hanson; sister, Megan Hanson; great-grandmother, Ruth Tiff; grandparents, Sharon Dunning and Dianne Hanson; aunts, Suzie Dunning, Lisa Parker, Celeste Simon; several cousins; his beloved dog, Maggie, which will now stay in the family.
Preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ronny Lee Hanson, Danny Roy Dunning; uncle, David Roy Dunning.
Jake was taken to Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley WA, where his immediate family viewed him for the last time in person but will always keep him in memory.
A Celebration of Jacob's life will be held at 3:00, on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the Skagit Golf and Country Club, 16701 Country Club Dr., Burlington, WA 98233, with reception following.
