Jacob Raymond Hayes, 52, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, in Sedro-Woolley, Washington due to complications from surgery.

Jake was born on October 18, 1973, in Seattle, Washington, the first of two children born to Steve and Cheri Hayes. He grew up in Sedro-Woolley, Washington, where he attended school and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1991. He later attended Skagit Valley College, completing the Parks Management Program.

Jake worked at Avalon Golf Course for more than 25 years, a place where he took pride in his work and enjoyed being outdoors, until an injury prevented him from continuing.

Growing up in the Skagit Valley, Jake enjoyed many of the activities typical of the area. He played baseball and soccer, rode his motorcycle, camped with his family, and lovingly cared for his pets. As an adult, he continued to enjoy working outdoors, hiking, and camping.

He is survived by his parents, Steve and Cheri Hayes; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; special friends, Arden and Kerry Hall and family.

Jake was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard Hayes and Gladys Hayes Conrad, Cliff and Dorothy Fulker; his brother and best friend, Josh Hayes; and his cousin, Marissa Winnie.

In accordance with Jake's wishes, no memorial service will be held. Inurnment will take place at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA, https://www.aspca.org/ways-to-give as Jake was a lifelong supporter, or to a favorite charity of your choice.
