James Allen Loop, 85, of Sedro-Woolley, Washington passed away at Birchview Memory Care facility on November 12, 2022. Jim was born December 3, 1936 in Mount Vernon, Washington. He grew up in Clear Lake, WA and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1955, after which he would go on to pursue a 38 year career with Puget Power.
Jim had a passion for riding motorcycles, cabinet making, woodworking, spending time with his grandchildren and attending their school functions. He spent countless years attending the University of Washington Husky football games and loved hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Jim could always tell a great joke or story.
To carry on his memory are his son, Richard (Teresa) Loop and daughters, Sharilyn (Rick) Matthews, Mendy Bucy and Marcie (Keith) O'Bryan. He was a beloved Papa to grandchildren, Sean (Amy) Bucy, Jay and Steven Bucy, Tegan (Alex) Stratton, Ian (Michael) O'Bryan, Katie Matthews and LeAnn Matthews; great grandchildren, Jace, Shay, Roanan and Aubrey. His loved ones also include his sister, Gayle (Don) Hull; brother-in-law, Kenny (Jodi) Gundersen; nephew, Brian (Tracy) Hull; niece, Kristin (George) Alvarez; Marlow (Matt) Finlinson and their children, Harper and Campbell, and special friend, Lou Ann Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldred Loop and Evelyn (Christiansen) Loop; his wife, Myrna (Jo) Loop; son-in-law, Jim Bucy.
Jim loved his family and friends and spoke of them often. Our sincerest thanks go out to the staff in the adult care unit of Peace Health United Hospital in Sedro-Woolley, Birchview Memory Care and Nurse Colleen with Hospice. Per Jim's wishes there will be no funeral. The family will honor him after cremation at a private graveside service.
