Jerry Homer Self

Jerry Homer Self passed away on August 3, 2026, just three days before his 79th birthday.

Jerry was born on August 6, 1947, to Homer and Ovella (Woody) Self. He grew up in the Skagit Valley and graduated from high school before proudly serving his country in the United States Army.

Following his military service, Jerry began a long career as a heavy equipment operator. He worked for more than 30 years as a civilian employee of the United States government, supporting the U.S. Navy. Jerry was known by all as the best in his field.

Jerry is survived by his sons, Jeremy (Jennifer) Self and Jody Self; and grandson, Jeffrey Self.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Ovella Self, and his sister, Thelma Jean Self.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Lyman Cemetery.
