Joanne Stafford-Greene, 91, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, Washington passed away on July 6, 2024. Joanne was born on October 1, 1932, in Scobey, Montana, the daughter of Lester and Fern (Grant) Flick.  When Joanne was three, the family moved to Chelan, WA, then to Tacoma, finally settling in Marblemount in 1946.  She graduated from Concrete High School with the class of 1950.

Joanne married Dolphus Stafford in December of 1949 and they made their home and raised their family in Rockport for many years.  She was a devoted wife, mother and farmer on the family ranch.

In 1960, Joanne began working as a ward attendant at Northern State Hospital in Sedro-Woolley.  In 1963, the family moved to Sedro-Woolley and Joanne attended and earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Skagit Valley College in 1964.  She worked as a Licensed Registered Nurse at NSH until its closure in 1973.  Dolphus had passed away unexpectedly in 1967, so after NSH closing she transferred to the Fircrest School in Seattle where she resided for the next 30 years.

In 1993, Joanne married Bob Greene, living in Seattle; Bob passed away on September 11, 2001 and in 2002 Joanne moved back to the Skagit Valley.

Joanne enjoyed playing music and traveling.

Joanne is survived by her sons, Howard Stafford and wife, Karen of Rockport and Leland Stafford; grandchildren, Lisa Fenley (Lee), Jeremy Stafford (Susan), Leslie Stafford, Sarah Stafford and Charles Stafford (Tatiana); 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great -great grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Parker and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Dolphus and Bob; son, Lester Stafford and two sisters, Kay Flack and Betty Maser.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:30, Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the Concrete Assembly of God Church, 45734 Main Street, Concrete, WA  98237, Pastor Bruce Martin presiding.  Share your memories of Joanne and sign the online guest register.
