Obituary

Jonny L. Saragena, 42, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away at his home with his family by his side on February 17, 2024.  Jonny was born January 9, 1982, to Reginaldo Saragena and Amalia Ellis in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Jonny worked hard and enjoyed working for companies from Popeyes in Germany, to Janicki in Sedro-Woolley and all places in between.  But his real passion was his jewelry company JLS Fine Jewelry.  Jonny was also well known in the martial arts community and was an instructor at Kalahi Martial Arts Academy.

Jonny loved to travel.  A couple of his favorite places were Germany "K-town", where he made so many lifelong friendships, and Oahu, where he grew up as a child and traveled to numerous times to visit family and take his friends to show them all of the good spots.

Jonny was quite the artist.  He loved to draw, paint, and do tattoos.  There are a lot of us who have tattoos by Jonny.  We will always have a part of him with us through his beautiful work.

There were so many things Jonny loved, but his biggest joy in his life were his children.  He gave his whole heart to them.  Every summer Jonny would be at the property on Lake Samish riding the sea-doo and jumping off the dock with his kids.  You would always find him by the water.

Jonny is survived by his son, Romel Saragena; daughter, Arianna Saragena; brother, Roel Saragena; mother, Amalia Ellis; father, Reginaldo Saragena; grandmother, Perlita Lagat and endless amount of family & friends.

He was preceded in death by his stepdad, Benjamin Ellis; grandfathers, Candido Lagat and Martin Sr. Saragena; grandmother, Timotea Saragena; best friend, Lou Faralan.
