Justen Jaye Rumer

Nov 20, 1976 — Oct 15, 2026

Justen Rumer, of Sedro-Woolley, Washington, passed away on October 15, 2026, at Harborview Medical Center. Though his time here was cut far too short, Justen leaves behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, love, and memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.

Justen was born in Provo, Utah to Bruce Rumer and Debra Terry where he spent half of his life before settling in Skagit County, Washington. He attended school in Utah and later in Anacortes, Washington. Wherever he went, Justen was someone people knew and remembered.

Growing up, he was often seen as the cool kid in school. He was social, well-known, and had a way of making friends wherever life took him. One of the things people will remember most about Justen was his infectious laugh. He could make people laugh without even trying, and his personality had a way of bringing people together. He was a man of many stories, and there was never a shortage of memories to share when Justen was around. His home was often the hangout spot when he was younger, a place where friends gathered, stories were told, and memories were made.

As a kid, Justen enjoyed karate, camping, and fishing. One of his special memories was traveling with his mom to Arches National Park and Yellowstone. Those adventures reflected his love for the outdoors, a love he carried throughout his life. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, and simply being outside, taking in the world around him. At heart, though, Justen was a laid-back guy who appreciated the simple things in life. He loved being around his family, spending time with the people closest to him, and relaxing at home. He was a true homebody who was perfectly happy stretched out in bed watching movies, enjoying his favorite snacks, and hanging out with his two beloved dogs, Oliver and Vinny. He didn't need anything fancy to be content. He found comfort in the familiar, happiness in the little things, and joy in being surrounded by those he loved. Above all, Justen was someone who loved in his own way and left his mark on the people around him. His humor, his stories, his easygoing nature, and the memories he created will never be forgotten. He was a light in many lives, and the people who knew him will carry a piece of him with them always.

Justen is survived by his loving girlfriend, Carissa; his four children, Gage, Forest, Violet, and Karson; his two sisters, Sarah and Jessie; his nieces, Kayla, Kiera, Amaya, Lexi, and Addison; his daughter-in-law, Savanna; his beloved grandson, Xander; his father, Bruce Rumer; and his two cherished dogs, Oliver and Vinny. He also leaves behind many cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing him.

Though Justen's passing leaves an ache that words cannot fully express, his stories will continue to be told, his laughter will be remembered, and his love will live on through his family and friends. The memories of camping trips, fishing adventures, family gatherings, friendships, and all the ordinary moments that became extraordinary simply because Justen was there will remain treasured forever.Justen lived life his own way, loved his people, enjoyed the simple things, and left behind more stories than could ever fit on these pages. You may be gone from our sight, Justen, but you will never be gone from our hearts. May you rest peacefully, surrounded by the love you gave so freely here on earth. You will be missed more than words can say and remembered always. I LOVE YOU
