Larry Eugene Earnst, 86, of Sedro-Woolley, Washington, passed away February 14, 2023, at United General Hospital.  He was born on February 19, 1936, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Lewis Grant and Ethel Olive Earnst.

Larry spent most of his life in Washington.  As a child, his family moved several times before settling in Sedro-Woolley.  He graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School and went on to work as a clerk for the Burlington Northern Railroad in Seattle, Mt. Vernon, and Bellingham offices.

Larry married Geraldine Trump, on July 24, 1965.  They were blessed with two children, a daughter named Bonnie and a son named Lenny.  They celebrated 51 years of marriage before Geraldine passed away.

Larry loved spending time with family and was especially fond of attending his children and grandchildren's band events.   He also enjoyed camping and traveling.  Larry and Gerry camped out all along the Pacific Coast and visited caves in Montana and New Mexico.  They traveled across the U.S. and in Canada, with their favorite trips being to see their grandchildren in Billings, Montana, and their trips to Alaska and Maine.  Larry was also known for his tinkering skills and ability to fix nearly anything.

Larry is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Brian Belles of Sedro-Woolley; his son and daughter-in-law, Lenny and Gina Earnst of Billings, Montana; his grandchildren, Nicole Yentzen and Colin Belles of Sedro-Woolley, Ashley Hinrichs of Bozeman, Montana, Lewis Earnst of Beaufort, South Carolina; his two great grandchildren, Aiden Buck and Levi Earnst, also of Beaufort, South Carolina.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis 'Hap' and Ethel Earnst, and his wife, Geraldine Earnst.

Larry will be laid to rest beside Geraldine in a Graveside Service officiated by Pastor John Haas Saturday, April 8, 2023, 11:00 a.m., Mt. Vernon Cemetery, 1220 East Fir Street, Mount Vernon.  Friends and family are welcome to attend, and a luncheon reception will follow at Vaux Retreat Center, Bakerview Park, 3011 East Fir Street.  Larry's loved ones and all who knew him will deeply miss him.
