Larry Hildebrand, born on June 9, 1950, in Corvallis, Oregon, passed away on September 28, 2026 in Everett, WA after a courageous battle following a motorcycle accident. Larry's life was a testament to resilience, honor, and love, and many would recall him as “one of a kind.”

Larry was the son of Wendell and Mary Jane Hildebrand, and he grew up in Anacortes, WA with strong family values and a love for mechanics that would shape his future. Larry graduated from Anacortes High School in June 1969, and shortly thereafter, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Coast Guard. His service from 1969 to 1973 was marked by dedication, an attribute that would carry through in all aspects of his life.

On July 21, 1973, Larry married Eva Christine. Their union was a beautiful testament to love and partnership, and together they built a family filled with love, laughter, and stability.

Larry's career of 42 years as a mechanic at Twin City Foods was marked by a strong work ethic and a passion for fixing just about anything with an engine. His colleagues remember him as a man with enthusiasm for his craft, always ready to lend a helping hand or share his vast knowledge. After a fulfilling career, Larry retired in 2015, but his love for mechanics never waned. He was often found in his garage, working on a car or motorcycle, always eager to tackle the next project.

Beyond his love for mechanics, Larry was an active member of the Skagit Shooting Range community, where he enjoyed camaraderie and competition. His hobbies were an extension of his adventurous spirit, and they brought him great joy.

Larry is survived by his wife Chris, his children David, Daniel, and Debra, and his sister Katie Hildebrand. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Samantha, Owen, Piper, and Griffin, who brought immense joy to his life.

In the wake of his passing, Larry's family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the Trauma ICU team of 9MB at Harborview Medical Center for their kindness and hard work during Larry's final days. Their care and compassion were a source of comfort to the family.

Larry's legacy is one of love, strength, and an unwavering commitment to both his family and his passions. As we remember him, we celebrate a life well-lived and the indelible mark he left on the world.
