Leo J. Shira, age 94, a longtime resident of Mount Vernon passed away peacefully, Monday, December 1, 2020 at his home surrounded by loved ones.  He was born in Everett, Washington, August 11, 1926, to Leo and Lillian (Currey) Shira.  He was the last survivor of two brothers and three sisters.

Leo was a member of the Hillcrest Ward of the LDS Church.

Leo is survived by his daughter, Sarah (Jim) Porter; sons, Michael (Samantha) and James (Cathy) Shira; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis and son, Harry.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00, Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Mount Vernon Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Stake Center, 1700 E. Hazel, Mount Vernon, followed by the Dedication of the Grave at Saxon Cemetery, Acme, WA.  Due to COVID-19 concerns, Masks are required as well as social distancing.
