Leona Marie Smith, age 82 of Sedro-Woolley, Washington, passed away March 27, 2026, in Burlington, WA.  She was born on August 5, 1943, in Hamilton to Aro and Abbie (Korshin) Straight.

She attended school in Sedro-Woolley and got her GED.  She and her ex-husband, Glenn Robert Hyatt for 15 years, raised two children, Richard and Lisa in Sedro-Woolley, where she started her 30-year career as a school bus driver.  Also, on summer vacations from the school district, she drove bus and field bosses with children working in the strawberry fields, rogueing spinach and harvesting her own raspberry field.  In 1986, she married Tony Lee Smith of Sedro-Woolley, and they finished their careers, retired and enjoyed their grandchildren in California, Skagit River Woods lots and snowbirds in Yuma, Arizona.

Leona is survived by her son, Richard (Teri) Hyatt; stepdaughter, Tana Smith (Eric 'Bruno') Skaugrad, sister, Lisa Hyatt; grandchildren, Nicole Hyatt (Armondo) Armas and Danielle Hyatt; great grandchild, Mary Ellen Armas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Glenn Hyatt and Tony Smith.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00, Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Hamilton Cemetery, Pastor Harold Thornbrough presiding.
