Lorene Allen, born October 12, 1938, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026.

Lorene was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Allen; her mother, Barbara Kid; her father, Napolen Ashley; her daughter, Debbie Allen; her mother-in-law, Doris Allen; her brothers, Lonnie Ashley, Chuck Ashley, Jerry Ashley, and Paul Bryson; and her sister, Dorothy Russell.

She is survived by her son, Michael; her daughter, Cindy; her brother, Bill Ashley; her sister, Bonnie Schriner; her brother, Ronnie Bryson; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory.

After spending 20 years as a devoted stay-at-home mother, Lorene joined her husband on the road as a co-driver in his truck. Together they traveled across the United States for more than 20 years, hauling everything from shakes and shingles to beer, wine, food products, and even horse meat though she was never particularly fond of hauling the horse meat.

Lorene was deeply involved in her community. She was a dedicated member of Concerned Citizens 304 Public Hospital District, working tirelessly to help ensure that United General Hospital remained open for the community it served.

She also spent many hours at the Senior Center in Sedro-Woolley, where she gathered with other women to sew pillows for patients at United General, PeaceHealth Hospital. In addition, she was a proud member of the auxiliary guild at United General PeaceHealth Hospital.

Lorene will be remembered for her hardworking spirit, her love for family, her generosity, and her dedication to helping others. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed.
