Lyle Dixon "Dick" Henderson, aged 83 years, of Sedro Woolley, Washington, passed away August 5, 2021, closely attended by his beloved daughter and son: Shawna DeAnne Henderson and Lyle Scott Henderson. Dick was born February 11, 1938 in Clearlake Washington to Lyle Raphael and Verna Beatrice Henderson and sisters, Lois Ann and Arlene.

Dick proudly served in the US Navy, aboard the USS Independence in the VAH-1 Avionics Division and then at NAS Sanford, Florida in Heavy Attack Wing 1, Detachment Alpha VAH-11.

After the Navy, he worked in aviation, including at the Boeing Company and competitors. As a married man, he purchased Henderson Insurance from his father and resided for many years in Bremerton and Port Orchard, where he raised his family and had great joy in being a father and husband.

In his later years, he returned to Skagit County, living in Mount Vernon near to his place of birth, mother, and sisters. He had much joy in being a beloved grandfather to three grandchildren, Shareece Brown, Penelope and Christopher Henderson. In August of 2018, Dick was baptized in Clearlake, the lake he learned to swim in as a boy, attended by his son and daughter. Dick resided in Sedro Woolley in his final years.

Dick had many hobbies and passions throughout his life, including electronics, computers, swimming, wood working, camping, and exploring deep forests and mountains. Dick was a warm-hearted man who made friends wherever he went and always had a joke and a smile for everyone.

Dick will be laid to rest October 2, 2021 at 2 PM in Clearlake Cemetery, following a brief Graveside ceremony with military honors. Please share your memories of Dick and sign the online guest register.
