Anne Maureen Ratfield, 94, of Samish Island, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.  Maureen was born on December 9, 1930 to Sally and Donald Dana in Seattle, Washington.  She was married to Robert Ratfield on December 30, 1948.

Maureen graduated from Burlington-Edison High School via correspondence while raising children and operating a family farm.  She and her family operated a dairy farm on Puget Island on the Columbia River, then farmed beef and oysters on Samish Island.  She loved sailing, mountain climbing, and traveling with her family.  Her home was often filled with family and friends gathering to share food, laughter, and love.

Maureen is survived by her children, Kathleen Morrison of Vancouver, BC; Susan (Steve) Van Natta of Algona; Tim (Sue) Ratfield of Samish Island, as well as 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild eagerly expected.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert.  Special thanks to Hospice for their compassionate care, as well as to countless friends and family who reached out with loving support during a brief but trying time.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2025  at the Samish Island Community Center. Arrangements are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.  Share your memories of Maureen and sign the online guest register.
