Melodye Ann Johnson, age 81, of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on October 20, 2026, with her two sons by her side. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a faithful servant of the Lord. Her life was marked by love, service, and unwavering faith. She was known for having a heart bigger than she was. She was born on January 14, 1945, to George and Doris Marie Warren of Everett, Washington. Melodye had a strong work ethic and worked as though she were serving the Lord, not people, as the Bible teaches. She worked at National Cannery in Burlington for 17 years, until it closed. That was on a Friday; the following Monday, she began working at Twin City Foods in Stanwood. While working there, she broke her hip. The surgeon told her she might never walk again and definitely would not be able to return to work. She replied, "With God's help, I will." And she did. She was 70 years old at the time and continued working at Twin City Foods until the cannery closed in 2017. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Melodye is survived by her sons, Brian and George (Janie); her stepson, Raymond (Susan); and eight grandchildren: Angelica, Sarah (Anthony), Mariah, Melodye, Kateland, Jacob (Taylor), Isaac (Vanessa), and Adam. She had eight great-grandchildren, with another due in November. She is also survived by her siblings, Linda and Bruce, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond, in 2024; her brothers, Ron and Gary; and her nieces, Denise and Dorie. A special thank-you to Dr. Paul Creelman for his compassionate medical care and guidance in Melodye's end-of-life care. Her kindness, generosity, and love for her family will live forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Throughout her 81 years, she touched many lives through her love for Jesus Christ, her devotion to the Word of God, and her thirst for knowledge of the King James Bible. In the words of her son Brian: "Those we love do not go away. They walk beside us every day, in timeless thoughts, forever, for when we are together once again..." A service of remembrance will be held at Lemley Funeral Home on Friday, October 30, at 5 p.m. A reception will follow at Lemley. You may share memories with the family at www.lemleyfuneralhome.com.
