Sedro-Woolley

Michael P. Pelch, 60, of Sedro-Woolley, Washington, passed away on October 3, 2026.

Michael was born on October 22, 1965, in Los Angeles, California, to Arthur and Nadine (Sherman) Pelch. A free spirit with a lifelong love of fishing and adventure, Michael’s life and career often centered around the water. He worked building and repairing ships and yachts and also served as a yacht captain for several prominent families. His work took him to many places, including La Paz, Mexico, and he continued to enjoy returning to Mexico throughout his life.

Michael loved Sedro-Woolley and the community he called home. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for many years and valued the friendships and connections he made there.

Fishing and crabbing were among Michael’s greatest passions. Some of his favorite memories were of fishing with his father at “the ditch” on the Samish River, where he enjoyed the excitement and bustle of “combat fishing”. He was always looking forward to his next opportunity to get out on the water.

Above all, Michael treasured his family and the laughter and time they shared together.

Michael is survived by his parents, Art and Nadine; sister, Sandi Pelch and her son, Michael “JR.,” along with family and friends who will miss his adventurous spirit and love of life.

We are a shared community that lives together in partnership. There is a purpose and worth to each and every life. We have Mike’s example. Save us a seat Michael, because we will meet again…
