Mickey
Lafayette
d. Dec 26, 2025
On December 26, 2025, Mickey Lafayette passed away at United General Hospital at the age of 77. He was born in Sedro-Woolley, Washington, to Wanda (Sanderson) and Raymond Lafayette.
Mickey met the love of his life, Donna, and they married in 1977. They settled in the Upper Skagit Valley, where they raised three children, Kendra, Jerry, and Adam near the confluence of the Skagit and Sauk Rivers. He was beloved by his grandchildren, Anthony, Brenton, J'din, Bryson, and Hunter, as well as many other children who affectionately called him Uncle Mickey.
His passions included gardening, smoking a pipe, deer hunting, cutting wood, making no-bake cookies, spoiling his dogs, and cheering for the Seahawks and the Mariners. For many years, Mickey worked as a shingle sawyer at Hurns Mill before buying his own sawmill and cutting lumber.
Mickey is survived by his children, Kendra (Mackenzie), Jerry, and Adam; his grandchildren; and his siblings, Carol Lafayette, Sandra Mitchell, John Hooven, Julie Osterhof, Melanie Nederhood, and Wendy Scott.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his parents; Grandma Ina; and his brothers, James Lafayette and Jerry O. Lafayette.
A potluck memorial will be held around his birthday on June 20, 2026, followed by a hike up Sauk Mountain. Share your memories of Mickey and sign the online guest register.
