Obituary

Nancy Louise (Lint) Jester, 74, of Burlington, WA, went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on her birthday, December 13, 2022 at United General Hospital.  She was surrounded by family in her final days and was full of peace.

A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on January 7, 2023 at 1pm.  Come in casual attire, as that is what Nancy would have wanted.

Nancy was born in Toppenish, WA to Wayne Wesley Lint and Clara Etta (Webb) Lint.  She was the 5 th of 6 children.  Nancy left high school her junior year in Sedro-Woolley to marry the Navy many she fell in love with.  Nancy and her friends were hanging out in the summer of '66 at Hal's Drive-In when a young, tan navy man caught her eye.  Nancy was a "knock out" and also caught the eye of this young Arkansas boy! Carroll smoothly slid up next to her and asked her name; the rest was history!  They were married on October 5 th , 1966.  In fact, their wedding made national news as they fought a fire with the reverend, who was also the fire chief in Day Creek, before returning to have their ceremony.  Carroll and Nancy were married 55 years before he preceded her in death in April of this year.

Nancy was a fighter, tenacious, fiercely loyal, generous, selfless, and taught her family how to love Jesus.  Life was a battle at times, but she always found a way to pray and muscle through adversity. She lived a full life, surrounded by the ones she cared about the most.  Despite having some difficult health hurdles along the past 12 years, she found ways to be positive.  She loved reminiscing with her siblings, visiting with her children and grandchildren, and spending time with her three great grandchildren.  There was nothing more fulfilling than spending quality time with those she loved.  If you were to ask her what she wanted to do, she would always say, "lets go for a ride and find someone to visit."

Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Thomas Jester, her father, Wayne Wesley Lint, her mother, Clara Etta (Webb) Lint, her sister, Janice Ellis (Eagleson) Lint, and her brother, Doyle Lawrence Lint.

Nancy is survived by her brothers, Theodore Wayne Lint, Berry George Lint, and Daniel John Lint, her daughter, Mickie Lea (Burrow) Jester and husband Brian Louis Burrow, her son, Dr. Daniel Thomas Jester and wife, Gretchen Rachel (Linebaugh) Jester, her grandchildren, Alexander Burrow and his wife, Rebecca Burrow, Jessica Burrow, Corbynne Jester, Jenna Burrow, Simeon Jester, Samuel Jester, and her great grandchildren, Paislee Burrow, Avery Burrow, and Mason Burrow.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Skagit Valley Hospital and their Orthopedic surgeons and nurses. They would also like to thank the countless nurses, staff, and residents at Lifecare Skagit who were a part of her time there. They also would like to express their gratitude for the loving team at United General Hospital who cared for her through her last breath, taken at the same hospital where she brought both of her children into this life. Finally, thank you to the people of Calvary Baptist Church who have consistently been the hands and feet of Jesus, caring for Nancy and her family for more than 40 years!

Cards and condolences can be sent to her son, Dan Jester, in care of Calvary Baptist Church in Burlington, WA.
