Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Paul W. Johnson, 86, of Lakewood, Washington, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024.  Paul was born on April 5, 1938, in Appleton, WI.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Johnson, and second wife, Ramona Mason.

Paul spent his life in service to others, both personally and professionally.  He worked as a recreational therapist at YMCAs and VA hospitals across the country.  He was a dedicated environmentalist, volunteering in the national parks system after his retirement.  In his personal life, Paul was a beekeeper and lover of nature, summiting Mount Saint Helens twice before the eruption.  A dedicated United Methodist, Paul spent countless hours volunteering at rest stops and food banks to better his community.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Paul is survived by his two sons, Mark (Diane) and Thomas; and four grandchildren, Clara, Andrew, Annelise, and Karsten.
