Robert “Bob”
Wesley Cushen
Feb 15, 1942 — Feb 6, 2024
Robert "Bob" Wesley Cushen , age 81, from Sedro-Woolley, Washington passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Lifecare Center in Sedro-Woolley after a brief illness. Bob was born in Mount Vernon, WA February 15, 1942, to Robert and Irene Cushen of Sedro-Woolley. He grew up in Sedro-Woolley along with his sister, Susan Cushen and attended Sedro-Woolley High School where he excelled at Track and Football. Bob spent most of his life living and working in the Sedro-Woolley area.
Bob worked as a manufacturing machinist for Bendix Co. that later became Skagit Steel until they closed. He then went to work for the US government at NUWES in Keyport, WA as a machinist building parts for torpedoes until he retired. Bob really enjoyed fishing in rivers and lakes, golfing, camping, sunsets, the beach, watching the weather channel, the Seahawks… but most of all he loved to socialize and be out on the town with his friends. I'm sure there are more stories than there is space to write them all here.
Bob is survived by his ex-wife, Gloria Wilson-Cushen; sons, Richard Cushen of Clear Lake, Bob Cushen and his girlfriend, Marilyn McCracken of Sedro-Woolley; daughter, Stephanie and her husband, Steve Mason of Burlington; grandchildren, Alisia and her husband, Nick Danielson of Conway, Logan Cushen of Sedro-Woolley, Clayton McCracken of Sedro-Woolley and Drake Wilhonen of Burlington; great grandchildren, Brayden Danielson, Chase Danielson & Chloe Danielson of Conway and Briley Cushen of Sedro-Woolley; numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Irene Cushen; sister, Susan Curtis; nieces, Janice and Joyce.
The family would like to extend a very grateful thank you to several members of the Lifecare team of Sedro-Woolley that took the time to care for our father over the last few years.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00, Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley with a reception to follow at the Eagles Club in Sedro-Woolley. Please s hare your memories of Bob and sign the online guest register.
