Ronald Edward Mero, age 66, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 27, 2026, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bellingham, Washington.

He was born on August 13, 1959, in Long Beach, California, to William Edward and Kathleen Joann (McMains) Mero. Ron spent his early years in Southern California before his family moved to Concord, California, where he attended junior high and Mt. Diablo High School.

Ron began his career with PG&E at the age of 19 and remained with the company for 35 years until his retirement. He was known for his strong work ethic, generous heart, loving spirit, integrity, responsibility, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. Whether through his career, friendships, or time spent with family, Ron made a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ron's love of the Lord grew deep throughout his life. He often thanked God for bringing him and Dianna together. He married " the love of his life ," Dianna Barrow, in May of 2010. They made their home in Alameda, California. After retiring in 2015, they moved to Deming, Washington, where they settled into their forever home with their beloved dog, Zeus "BoBo."

Ron greatly enjoyed sports and music of all kinds and played many instruments. He had an infectious sense of humor and loved to laugh, often making me laugh as well. His love of music and his great sense of humor brought joy to those around him. He loved woodworking in his shop and spending time outdoors working on his property. Golf was another passion, and for many years he volunteered as a marshal at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am each year. Although he didn't fish as much in later years, fishing always remained close to his heart.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Dianna Mero; daughters, Shea (Dennis) Stimac and Lindsey (Adam) Nettleton; stepson, Paul Nierhake; six grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Ron was recently preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen McMains, and his aunt, Eilene High.

No services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project.

Ron's life was a gift to those who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
