On December 3, 2025, Ronald John Sessa, 79, went home to be with our Lord, surrounded by the love of his family and sustained by the promise of eternal life.

Ron was born on April 30, 1946, in Seattle, Wa., the son of Dick Jr. and Margherite (Thurber) Sessa.

Ron grew up in Seattle, graduated from Lincoln High School and continued on to Washington State University earning his degree in Civil Engineering. He enlisted in ROTC in 1969 and was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC. He married Carol Johnson in 1966 and together they welcomed over the next four years, their two daughters Sabrina and Samantha.

In 1970 he was sent to Vietnam and spent 12 months before returning home and serving in the National Guard for 3 years. Ron and Carols lives took different paths and on November 10, 1979, Ron married Lorraine Gifford together with her daughters Heather and Heidi.  Ron and Lorraine shared 46 years of marriage, building a life founded in love, partnership and adventure.

Ron dedicated more than 40 years to his career as a Construction manager, respected for his leadership, integrity, and work ethic. His most memorable years were spent managing USAID projects in Somalia and Cairo, Alexandria, and Aswan, Egypt.

Outside of work, he was happiest in the great outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and riding his Harley, reflecting his spirited and independent nature.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine Sessa;  four daughters, Sabrina (Jim) Risher, Samantha (Kevin) Faris, Heather (Hernan) Criollo, and Heidi (Rich) Hash; 13 grandchildren, his brother, Richard Sessa; many extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Dick and Margherite Sessa and other family members.

Ron will be remembered for his strength and adventurous spirit and his love for his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00, on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Lemley Chapel, 1008 Third St., Sedro-Woolley, WA, followed by a fellowship at the Sedro-Woolley Eagles.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ron's name to the Washington Veterans Home, 1141 Beach Dr E, Port Orchard, WA 98366.
