Obituary

Scott Matthew Thornhill, 47, Skagit County resident, passed away on Saturday November 27, 2021, at Skagit Valley Hospital after a very courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on April 17, 1974, and raised in Red Bluff, California, the son of Leslie & Twila (Main) Thornhill.  After the divorce of Leslie & Twila, Leslie was united in marriage with Pamela Johnson where Pamela gladly accepted Scott and helped to raise him.  Scott attended school and graduated from Red Bluff High School class of 1993.

In February 1994, he married Cherilyn Russell, together they had a son, Aaron and a daughter, Bree.  They later divorced in 2006.  Scott married Sarah Eacret on July 16, 2016, in which he inherited Emily Eacret & Ethan Eacret.

Scott worked at various service industry jobs before moving to Washington State and starting his career in law enforcement in 2006 with Washington State Department of Corrections as a correctional officer, and throughout his career participated in several special team's operations.  He considered it an honor to serve until his medical issues forced his retirement.  Scott made lasting friendships with Brothers & Sisters in blue that became lifelong friends that were such a support system for Scott until he passed.

Scott loved sports, all sports but especially his beloved San Francisco 49ers Football and San Francisco Giants Baseball and would very rarely miss a game!  In his younger years, he was an avid hunter with very special memories at deer camp with his family in California.  Scott also enjoyed coaching his children's soccer, baseball, and football teams.  Most recently, Scott helped coach youth football several years and participated on the board for Sedro-Woolley Youth Football League.  Scott cherished spending time with his family, listening to music, watching movies and traveling as much as possible.

Scott is survived by his wife, Sarah Thornhill of Sedro-Woolley; children, Aaron and Bree Thornhill of Aberdeen, Emily and Ethan Eacret of Sedro-Woolley; granddaughter, Blakely Riggles of Sedro-Woolley; mother, Pamela Thornhill of Red Bluff, CA; sisters, Rebecca (Robert) Gregg of Red Bluff, CA and Alexandria Lee of Long Beach, CA; brother, Brian (Renee) Thornhill of Red Bluff, CA; sister in-law, Samantha (Cory) Coffelt of Centerton, AR; grandmothers Donna Thornhill, Patsy Ervin, and Barbara Johnson all of Red Bluff, CA; great-grandmother, Mickie Matthews of Herlong, CA; aunts, Pamela (Vern) Sorenson, Annie (Judy) Peterson of Boise, ID and Roberta (Don) Miles of Mt.
