Obituary

Sharon June Stokes, born January 21, 1945, in Southern California, passed away peacefully at home on June 5, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.

Sharon grew up in Southern California, where she met the love of her life, Tom Dee Stokes. Together they built a beautiful life, raising their two children, Shannon and Anthony. Thirty years ago, Sharon and Tom made their home in Skagit County, where Sharon enjoyed a fulfilling career as a realtor with Century 21. She found great joy in helping young couples achieve the dream of purchasing their first home and was known for her warmth, honesty, and genuine care for others.

Sharon possessed an unmistakable zest for life that remained with her until the very end. She was happiest outdoors, whether fishing, boating, or camping with family and friends. The holidays held a special place in her heart, and she loved gathering loved ones around her table for festive meals and celebrations. Her infectious laughter and mischievous smile could light up any room, bringing joy to everyone around her.

Known for her kind heart and wise, motherly advice, Sharon had a rare gift for making each person she encountered feel valued and important. Her kindness, compassion, and unconditional love touched countless lives and will never be forgotten.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, John and June Newling; her beloved son, Anthony Stokes; and her granddaughter, Lexi.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Tom Dee Stokes; her daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Brian Proctor; her daughter in law, Erin Stokes; her four granddaughters and their families; her sister, Pamala Kryda (Frank); her brother, Frank Newling (Vince); her youngest brother, John Newling; her sister-in-law, Dian Hopkins (Jack); and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Sharon's kindness, laughter, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
