Shirley Darlene Miller (Ziebell), 89, of Burlington, Washington, passed away peacefully at Birchview Memory Care in Sedro-Woolley on December 10, 2024.  She was the devoted wife of Art and loving mother to Steve, Susanne, and Sally.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

Shirley was born July 28, 1935, in Sedro-Woolley to William and Elva Ziebell.  She graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1953 and married her high school sweetheart, Arthur Miller, in July of that year.  They spent more than 69 years together before Art's passing in 2023.  After retiring from US Bank, Shirley and Art enjoyed traveling in their RV.  They spent many winters at Rancho Bonitos in Yuma, Arizona, traveled cross country and to Alaska, as well as making annual trips to Alberta each fall.  They also were antique car lovers and spent many weekends at car shows.  Shirley enjoyed knitting and quilting and belonged to quilt clubs in both Yuma and Skagit County.  She could often be seen at Christmas craft fairs selling her handmade items.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Susan Miller of Sedro-Woolley; daughters and sons-in-law, Susanne and Larry Bennett of South Carolina, and Sally and Bob Carlson of Sedro-Woolley; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Avis Ziebell of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; parents; sister, Laurene Brendle.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00, Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Elks Club, 2120 Market Street, Mount Vernon.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to, may make donations to the Sedro-Woolley High School Alumni Foundation ( https://woolleycubs.com ) or the charity of their choosing.  Share your memories of Shirley and sign the guest register.
