Thomas 'Tommy' Ray Dills Hamilton – Thomas 'Tommy' Ray Dills, age 66, passed away at home in Hamilton, WA, Friday, October 17, 2025. He was born January 15, 1959 in Burlington, WA to Gordon and Barbara (McNabb) Dills. Tom attended Hamilton School through 6th grade and Sedro-Woolley schools through his sophomore year in high school. The family moved to Snoqualmie and Tom attended Mount Si graduating in 1977.

Starting in the timber industry at an early age Tom helped his Grandad Gordon build road and set chokers. Eventually he went on to log and work with his Dad until 2004 when he went into business for himself contract logging for various timber companies in Skagit County. From 2009 to 2019 he worked for John Tortorelli running the log yard in Cle Elum. In 2020 he assisted in the set up and ran the log yard for Osprey Logistics in Everett, continuing in this position until 2025. Tom was highly respected in the timber industry. He took a personal interest in the young men who worked for him as a mentor throughout his career.

On September 20, 1980 Tom married Susan Fitz in Mount Vernon, WA. They recently celebrated their 45th anniversary with close friends and family in Lyman. Tom and Sue made their home in Hamilton and lived there for 36 years.

Tom appreciated wine, red only, his favorite was Merlot, as well as making wine for his personal use. He loved music and playing his collection of guitars. Tom and Sue enjoyed spending time relaxing and sharing a glass of wine on their boat in La Conner. His Sunday fun time was touring throughout Washington in his convertible Porsche with Sue by his side. Whenever a family member or friend was in need Tom was there to assist.

At the age of 15 Tom was given his first car by his Dad who said if you get it running it's yours. This car needed some work, understatement, and Tom went to town to get it road ready while he was in high school. The 1939 Chev Coupe Master Deluxe went through some hard times and was sold locally but Tom retained ownership a few years ago. Tom had the Coupe in his shop, working on it as he could, and was overwhelmed when his friends came to his assistance in August and finished the job. It was a dream come true for Tom to drive and enjoy his cherished Coupe once again.

Tom is survived by his wife, Susan; son, Quentin; brother, Gordon (Laurie) Dills; sisters, Alice (James) Hardenburgh, Vivian (Jim) Summers; grandchildren, Mila and Desmond Dills; aunts Inez Sullivan, Norma (Chuck) Truman, Polly (Leonard) Buchanan and Barbara Dills; uncles, Steve Dills, Scott Dills and many close cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gordon H. and Irma Dills; parents, Gordon, Jr and Barbara Dills; nephew, Sam Parker; great nephew, Tucker Parker; aunts, Margaret Ammons, Alice Pressley, Ima Jean Smith, Doris Clark, Barbara (Bobbie) Mayville, Carolyn Hein; uncles, Mack McNabb, Eugene McNabb, Wade Dills and Douglas Dills.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. Hosted gathering immediately following the Memorial Service to share favorite memories of Tom at The Barn, 303 E Jones Road Sedro-Woolley.
