Thomas Edward Storrs passed away on April 10, 2025. He was born on June 2, 1942, in Mount Vernon, Washington, to Milton D. Storrs and Etta E. Ellis. He was raised in Avon, attended Mount Vernon schools, and graduated in 1959. He was active in Boy Scout Troop 1. Tom attended Skagit Valley College and graduated from Utah State University. He served as a missionary for the Church of the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Central States Mission. His first teaching job was in La Conner where he was also a Scout Master and became a Director of Head Start for Skagit County. He also worked at Skagit Grain and Seed.

Tom married Sharon K. Martindale in the Logan, Utah Temple on December 28, 1966. Tom and Sharon lived in La Conner and Mount Vernon and then moved to American Samoa where he spent two years teaching at Mapusanga High School. They then moved to Sedro-Woolley and adopted two children, Alicia in 1975 and Paul in 1979. They have lived in Sedro-Woolley ever since.

Tom was part owner of Skagit Success Business College in Mount Vernon. He started his own company, Thrifty Building Maintenance, and was a custodian for the Sedro-Woolley church building and the stake center. He was later an accountant for Job Corps and did part time accounting for Oliver Hammer for 20 years. He was appointed to serve on the Sedro-Woolley City Council on two separate occasions.

Tom was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings over the years, including scouting where he was a member of the Order of the Arrow, teaching Sunday School and Seminary, and serving in priesthood quorums and the bishopric. He also served on the Stake High Council.

Tom was outgoing and enjoyed talking to people, was a great teacher and a humorous individual. He enjoyed scouting, camping, hiking, yard work, gardening, reading, watching TV and movies, He was involved with family history work, model railroading, and building furniture.

Tom is survived by his wife, Sharon; his daughter, Alicia (Scott) Pahre of Clinton, WA; his son, Paul (Deny) Storrs of Fort Liberty, North Carolina; and four granddaughters, Samantha (Josh) Summers of Dickinson, Texas, and Kieltaa, Autumn, and Keikilani Storrs of NC; sisters, Barbara English and Sharon Vastola of NC; brother, Charles 'Chuck' Storrs of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Etta Storrs; sisters, Marilyn Storrs and Beverly Lade; brothers, Dennis and George Storrs.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00, on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1122 McGarigle Rd, Sedro-Woolley, followed by the interment at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery.
