Thomas Alexander Burton, lovingly known as Tom or Tommy, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, in Sedro-Woolley, Washington, at the age of 74. Born on May 22, 1951, in Butte, Montana, Tom lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his passions.

Tom graduated from California Davis University with a degree in botany, reflecting his lifelong love of plants and flowers. This passion extended into his personal life as he found joy in cultivating greenery and creating beautiful spaces. His career spanned two decades working for the state of Washington at Northern State Hospital in Sedro-Woolley. As a skilled boilerman and electrician, Tom's expertise and commitment left a lasting impact on those he worked with.

A proud veteran, Tom served in the Merchant Marines during the Vietnam War. Following in his father George's footsteps, he worked in the boiler room during his service. His time in the Merchant Marines was a testament to his sense of duty and resilience.

Tom was a man of many talents and interests. He had an incredible knack for building and constructed two family homes before completing his final home in Sedro-Woolley alongside his beloved wife Allison. Their marriage of 46 years was built on love and devotion, a bond that remained unshakable throughout their journey together.

Tom is survived by his wife Allison; his children Keun, Jayson, and Mollie; as well as numerous grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy. He was predeceased by his daughter Jennie in 2016 and by his parents Elizabeth and George. Tom also cherished the relationships he shared with his brother, sister, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Tom held steadfast to his faith and believed deeply that he would one day reunite with all his loved ones. His sensitivity, kindness, nurturing spirit, and unwavering love for those around him defined who he was. He will be remembered as a sweet soul who touched the lives of many.

Tom's legacy lives on through the memories shared by those who knew him best, his family and friends who will forever hold him close to their hearts. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn this profound loss.
