Velva M. Prouty was born on December 8, 1930, in Selah, Washington.  She left us on October 14, 2023.

She married Edwin Webb on December 11, 1948, at which time she was already working at the Northern State Hospital.  She worked there until right before they closed and went to work at United General and Mount Vernon hospitals until her retirement.

Velva was very creative and sewed many things over the years and made many, many afghans as well.  She loved to paint and was very good at it and was a wonderful cook.

In 1970, she married Donald Prouty, they had many adventures together over the years, but really enjoyed going to Yuma, Arizona for the winters.  They were true snowbirds!

Velva is survived by her daughter, Vicki Webb Jones of Kingman, AZ; son, Daryl (Mary) Webb of Lyman, WA; stepson, Gary (Janet) Prouty of Rainier, WA; stepdaughter, Cheryl (Lester) Prouty- Bussing of Bremerton, WA; brother, Bob Allen of ID; niece, Kelly Allen of ID; grandchildren, Michael (Cyndee) Conatser of King City, California; Douglas Jones, of Kingman, Kristie (Jesse) Kornelis of Lynden, WA; great grandchildren, Jaci and Dylan Conatser, of King City, Haylee and Jacoby of Lynden, and Olivia Jones of Kingman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan and Rea Allen; husband, Don Prouty; brothers, Bill and Bud Allen.

A Time of Visitation will be available from 11:00am to 7:00pm Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley; the Funeral Service will be held at 11:00, Thursday at Lemley Chapel, followed by the Committal Service at Union Cemetery, Sedro-Woolley, Pastor Jim Cannon presiding.  Share your memories of Velva and sign the online guest register.
