Vern Charles Mast, Sr., 93, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 in Sedro-Woolley, WA.  He was born on September 10, 1928 in Hamilton, WA, the son to Orville J. and Marie (Augir) Mast.

He graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1946 and joined the US Army.  On August 3, 1946 he married Colleen Evitt in Louisville, Kentucky. They were married for 59 years until her passing in February of 2006.

Vern worked for the Sedro-Woolley School district as a bus driver and head mechanic.  He enjoyed horseback riding, camping and raising a variety of animals.  He also had an exotic bird farm.

On May 2, 2008 Vern married Hazel Baker-Mast, until her passing in March of 2016.

Vern is survived by his daughter, Darcy Hamilton; son, Vern Mast, Jr. (Debra); daughter, Tina Hull(Ray); grandchildren, Lisa Drye (Jay), Kirk Hamilton(Leslie), Megan Dempsey (Brian), Jeremy Mast (Lisa), Kelly Maguire (Jerrod), Leslie Kowalczyk (Chris), Casey Kowalczyk; 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents; brother, Jack Mast; first wife, Colleen Mast and second wife, Hazel Mast.

A Graveside service will be held at 2:00, on Monday, March 14, 2022 at the Union Cemetery in Sedro-Woolley, WA, with Pastor Harold Thornbrough officiating. Share your memories of Vern and sign the online guest register.
